Former Together chief executive Marc Goldberg has won the outstanding achievement award at the Mortgage Strategy Specialist Lending Awards 2026.

The ceremony took place at The Belfry Hotel & Resort on 15 September, in partnership with Black & White Bridging.

Goldberg was a longstanding member of Together and officially retired in December 2026.

The award presentation speech was given by Together chief commercial officer Ryan Etchells.

Etchells said: “I first met this year’s recipient in 2007, when I joined one of Together’s first graduate intakes. As I moved around the business, one person seemed to know absolutely everyone.

“Not just their names, but who they worked with, which deals they were involved in, where those deals had come from and, quite possibly, what they had eaten for breakfast.

“At the time, I assumed there must be a sophisticated database behind it all.

“Nearly twenty years on, I have concluded that he is the database.”

Etchells added that Goldberg was “a rare combination of commercial brilliance, relationship-builder and, at times, human search engine” and that “he has helped grow the business from a small operation into an organisation with more than 900 colleagues and an £8.4bn loan book”.

Goldberg was also heavily involved in charitable causes, fundraising and mentoring, Etchells went on.

Etchells concluded: “Thankfully, after last year’s brief and widely-questioned ‘retirement’, he remains very much part of Together as we begin our next chapter.

“Ladies and gentlemen, please join me in celebrating someone who has helped shape our business, our culture and many of our careers… Marc Goldberg.”
