TMG Mortgage Network has appointed Danny Belton as head of its club & partner strategy, in what the firm says is “the biggest hire in its history”.

Veteran Belton (pictured) will be tasked with “strengthening relationships with lenders, providers, and strategic partners,” says the network, which was launched in 2021.

It adds that under Belton, the business plans to “expand its partner ecosystem and strengthen its collaboration across the industry”.

The network says that Belton is “recognised across the market for his deep lender expertise, vast relationship network, and ability to deliver high-impact collaborations”.

Belton had been running his own firm, DB Consultancy, for just over six months. Prior to that, he was head of lending at Mortgage Advice Bureau for just over a year.

But he is known throughout the industry for the 35 years he spent at Legal & General, leaving as head of lender relationships in 2023.

TMG Mortgage Network chief executive Scott Thorpe says: “This is the biggest hire in our history – and for good reason.

“Danny is a proven industry leader who understands both the lender and adviser world inside out.

“His appointment is a huge statement of intent for TMG as we continue to innovate, grow, and give our members an edge in a competitive market.”

Belton plans to use his experience to work towards “building stronger relationships with lenders, providers, and strategic partners, and expanding opportunities for our members”.
