Chase Sapphire Lounges Ending Priority Pass Access August 15
Chase is tightening access to its Sapphire Lounge network. Beginning August 15, 2026, Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club locations will no longer participate in either the Priority Pass or LoungeKey networks.
Until now, travelers without an eligible premium Chase card could use Priority Pass or LoungeKey for one complimentary Sapphire Lounge visit per calendar year. Additional visits were available for a discounted fee of $75. Both options will disappear when the new policy takes effect.
The change does not affect complimentary access for cardholders with the Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business, J.P. Morgan Reserve Card, or Ritz-Carlton Credit Card. Eligible cardholders will continue to receive unlimited lounge access and can bring up to two guests at no charge. Additional guests will remain $27 each, while children under two are admitted free. Chase is also keeping the complimentary Priority Pass Select membership included with eligible cards.
The move should reduce crowding and wait times for Chase’s own premium cardholders, especially at popular locations where Priority Pass guests have added to demand. However, it is a significant loss for travelers who accessed Sapphire Lounges through Priority Pass memberships issued by American Express, Capital One, or other card issuers.
Better Access on Long Connections
Chase is simultaneously improving access for cardholders with longer connections. Starting August 15, eligible cardmembers on a connecting itinerary will be able to enter a Sapphire Lounge up to five hours before their connecting flight, up from the current three-hour limit. The standard three-hour restriction will remain in place before the first flight of a trip and for passengers traveling on nonstop itineraries.

The Chase lounges have generally been among the better options available through Priority Pass, with full meals, cocktails and, at select locations, amenities such as facials, rest pods and showers. Travelers hoping to use their annual complimentary Priority Pass visit should do so before August 15. After that, they will have to get one of the eligible cards that gets you in the door.
On the other hand this is good news for those who have a Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business, J.P. Morgan Reserve Card, or Ritz-Carlton Credit Card. They will be able to get into lounges quicker, and hopefully find them less crowded.
