Hyatt Converts Hilton All-Inclusives, Cancels Reservations
As of June 11, LoyaltyLobby reports that the four Hilton all-inclusives in Playa’s portfolio were removed from Hilton’s booking channels. For past reservations booked with Hilton points for stays prior to June 15, Hilton confirmed that they will be honoring these reservations.
However, The Points Guy confirmed Hilton has begun canceling reservations at these properties for stays that occur after June 15, but are still honoring previously booked cash stays (for the time being). At the same time, Hyatt has begun to integrate the four all-inclusives that exited Hilton’s system.
Future Playa Hotels Integrations
Hyatt first revealed in December the possibility of an acquisition of Playa Hotels & Resorts. In February, Hyatt announced the acquisition of Playa, which owns and operates a portfolio of 24 all-inclusive resorts (9,027 rooms) located in the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Jamaica under brands belonging to chains such as Hilton, IHG and Wyndham, as well as Hyatt.
During this ongoing acquisition set to close later this year, we should see many more properties integrated into Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection.
Playa’s portfolio operated under the following brands: Hyatt Zilara, Hyatt Ziva, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, Wyndham Alltra, Seadust, Kimpton, Jewel Resorts, The Luxury Collection, and formerly, Hilton All-Inclusive.
