A new Kimpton just opened at New York’s famed Rockefeller Center — and you can’t beat its city views
It’s a new “era” for the Kimpton brand in New York City. The Kimpton Era Midtown New York is now officially open, right off Rockefeller Center. Set in a 33-story skyscraper helmed by Extell Development Company (the same company behind the legendary Park Hyatt New York building, One57), the new Kimpton is the first hotel under Extell’s direct management and part of IHG One Rewards.

“She explained that on “special” promo rates that they collect the money up front. Then at check out they would apply the points, assuming no room charges etc. are there. Problem is that you already took my points. That means you have my points AND my money – not cool. I can only imagine the headache at checkout too. The last thing I want to do on vacation is argue to get my $700 back.”
