United Adds 10 International Destinations and New Routes for 2027
United Airlines has announced a sizable international expansion for 2027, adding 10 new international destinations along with several new routes to cities already in its network.
The new service starts as early as March 2027 and includes destinations in Japan, France, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal, Slovenia and Italy. Eight of the 10 new cities will be served nonstop from the U.S. by United alone.
New United International Routes for 2027
The 10 new destinations are:
- San Francisco (SFO) – Okinawa (OKA): Starts March 27, 3x weekly
- Newark (EWR) – Luxembourg (LUX): Starts April 2, daily
- Washington Dulles (IAD) – Toulouse (TLS): Starts April 26, daily
- Newark (EWR) – Ljubljana (LJU): Starts May 12, 4x weekly
- Newark (EWR) – Olbia (OLB): Starts May 27, 3x weekly
- Newark (EWR) – Catania (CTA): Starts May 28, 4x weekly
- Newark (EWR) – Ibiza (IBZ): Starts May 31, 4x weekly
- Newark (EWR) – Valencia (VLC): Starts June 2, 3x weekly
- Newark (EWR) – Marseille (MRS): Starts June 4, daily
- Newark (EWR) – Terceira (TER): Starts June 9, 3x weekly
United says it will be the only U.S. airline flying nonstop from the U.S. to Okinawa, Luxembourg, Toulouse, Ljubljana, Ibiza, Valencia, Marseille and Terceira. Tickets are already on sale.
United is also adding flights to destinations it already serves: Los Angeles–Osaka, Washington Dulles–Milan, and Denver–Paris. It also plans to resume San Francisco–Tel Aviv service on March 28.
New A321XLR Service
Several of the new routes will use United’s Airbus A321XLR, including service to Luxembourg, Toulouse, Ibiza, Valencia and Marseille.
The aircraft will have 20 Polaris suites, 12 Premium Plus seats, Starlink Wi-Fi for MileagePlus members, 4K OLED screens, and a new Economy Plus seating option with extra space created by an open middle seat. The A321XLR is scheduled to begin international flying on December 1, 2026, initially from Washington Dulles to Amsterdam and Dublin.
