Citi Strata Elite Card Now Live Online

Citi shared recently that the Citi Strata Elite card will launch in Q3, and now the card is live only conforming most of the leaked details. The bonus online is 80K, but it might be 100K in-branch. The annual fee is $595 and cardholders can get “nearly $1,500 in value”. Transfers to American Airlines are also live now.  Check out the full details below.

Signup Bonus

Initially it was reported that the card will have a 100K bonus for those who have a CitiGold relationship only. But now it’s supposed to be 100K for everyone, at least in-branch.

  • Earn 80,000 bonus points after spending $4,000 in the first 3 months
  • DIRECT LINK

This bonus will initially be available in-branch only when the card launches this weekend possibly. It’s not clear what the bonus will be online, but it’s likely that it will be the same.

Bonus ThankYou Points are not available if you have received a new account bonus for a Citi Strata Elite account in the past 48 months or if you converted another Citi credit card account on which you earned a new account bonus in the last 48 months into a Citi Strata Elite.

Annual Fee

  • Annual Fee: $595 ($75 for AUs)
    • $145 Annual Fee discount with CitiGold ($200K+ balance)
    • Waived fee the first year, and $145 discount after that with Citi Private Client ($1M+ assets)

More

Current Prestige cardholders will be product changed to the Strata Elite. However that might not be immediately at launch. A new FHR-like program called “The Reserve by Citi Travel” lists both the Citi Strata Elite and Citi Prestige cards as eligible. So they will co-exist at least for a little bit.

Guru’s Wrap-up

There are now multiple sources that have similar details about the card. So my guess is that most of these benefits will come with the Citi Strata Elite card in some form.

The card sounds somewhat interesting, but we obviously need to know more details. They’re trying some unique things with Splurge Credit and Citi Nights, but especially the latter will likely be a mess when it comes to tracking it correctly. At least it looks like these credit will be based on calendar year. So double-dips or maybe triple-dips could be possible if timed right.

As for the signup bonus, we now know that it will be just 80K for most people. That’s quite low for a premium card with a $595 annual fee. CitiGold members will get a 100K bonus, but even that is not amazing.

Excited? Let us know in the comments!
